Prior legal cases and global responses

Another militant previously active with the group, Lina E, emerged as a symbolic figure within certain radical left communities following her conviction in 2023 for attacks on suspected right-wing individuals.

America's terrorist listing renders organization affiliates ineligible to enter the United States, blocks financial holdings they may have within the American economy and criminalizes offering assistance to them.

The German right-wing Alternative for Germany welcomed the US decision and called on the German administration to follow suit. However, the German foreign ministry merely commented it had “acknowledged” of the American classification.

“The threat posed by the organization has substantially diminished lately. Key leaders and particularly violent members have either already been convicted or remain detained.”
